Public Potty Trip

We have been working on Potty Training so on our way into Target today Rylee said "I need to go Potty Mommy"
Which on one hand was great that she was telling me but on the other hand she takes forever to go and she is very narrative. Here is how our 30 min long adventure went.

I will try to set the scene. Rylee Jacob and I are crammed into a small stall. Rylee only knows one volume LOUD! Many people are coming in and out. Our conversation went something like this. I wish I could have recorded it. Warning it is not for the squeamish!

Rylee:Loudly " Me whispering:

I am going to go Poo Poo and Pee"
Great go ahead"
Mommy go outside and wait.
No I am going to stay here.
You gonna watch me go Poo Poo
yes
and Jacob watch me too?
yes
I beeped excuse me! (beeped is what Rylee calls toots)
I am gonna beep again
Lots of loud grunts
I going poo poo!
Here it comes! Its coming!
good job
Look I got one! Look mommy!
yes great honey
It's a big one.
is it big or little mommy?
looks big to me.
Here comes another one.
Its a little one.
More grunts
and another little one
yes finish up.
Pointing into the toilet. It's a daddy, sister and brother ones!
great rylee keep going.
Someone walks into the stall next to us.
Look there's a mommy, She is peeing! Looking under the stall I can see her!
Look another one! Another big one! Looking into the toilet. I got 1..2..3..4..5..
Ok rylee are you done?
No I got some more. A Little baby one! Can you pray for my belly?
Lord please heal rylee's belly and make it all better.
Ok I got some more poo poos
I all done you wipe my bottom?
I wish I could remember it all. The whole potty trip seemed to last forever. But we finally arrived victorious!

Family Portrait

Here is a family Portrait that Rylee drew of us. I added the names.

The only thing that would have made it better is if it wasn't on the dining room wall!

Florida Trip Week 1

Here are pictures from the beach trip with my mom. We had a great time. And it went as well (or at least as well as it could with 6 kids six and under and no husbands)

Some Funny things

I have been in Florida for the last 2 weeks. It was a lot of fun. We have some great pictures I will put on here later but for now I thought I would post some funny things Rylee has said Lately.

Spelling
The bible talks about what comes out of your mouth is the overflow of the heart. I wonder if what comes out of your child's mouth is the over- overflow of your own heart?

Rylee Loves to spell her name. She walks around the house saying R-Y-L-E-E that's me! So one day she was spelling her name and I asked her if she remembered how to spell ZOO. (we had been there a few days before and she had learned how.) She spelled it, then I asked if she could spell cat. She thought for a minute then she said "No. Mommy I want to spell Target!"

Doctrine Debate
Kennedy and Rylee were riding together on the way to Florida. Allison was driving and they were in the back arguing as usual. Finally Allison said girls what are you arguing about? And Kennedy replied. Rylee says Jesus died but I say he is alive!

My Baby

Today Rylee kept asking me for her baby. So I handed her one of the fifty we have. She said no not that one my big girl baby. So wanting her to describe it I said what does she look like. And she relpied "She looks like her mommy" refering to herself.

Here is a picture Rylee drew in the sand by herself of her daddy.

Mother Like Daughter

"I'm mad about Boxes, boxes are fun, no one will guess who we are when we're done!"

This is a quote from my favorite book from when I was little, Jillian Jiggs. My mom used to say I was like Jillian because I could turn anything into a toy. I especially loved boxes. It looks like Rylee is the same. She found these flatted boxes and decided to try them on.

More Pictures of Daisy-ma

Posted by Picasa These are some pictures of Daisy-ma from the last time we saw her. It was the first time she saw Jacob. If you can't see the video below try this link. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3592321653486631603

A call to be Joyful

Dec 25th 2003 (90th Birthday)
This is a video of my Great Grandmother known as Daisy- Ma. She recently passed away.
She was 92 years old and an amazing woman. Her life was charaterized by Joy. At her funeral person after person told of how she was always happy and whenever they left her they were encouraged. Daisy-ma didn't have an easy life, she wasn't wealthy but she was always joyful. You see she knew where real joy came from. She knew she was a sinner that was saved by grace. She had a savior and that was were her joy came from. No matter what happened in her life she still had a savior and that produced joy. I want to be more like her. The bible comands us to be joyful. It isn't suppose to be an option. How easily I complain about things or look at my circumstances instead of the big pictutre. That God sent his only son to die for my sins and because of that I am forgiven. My biggest need in life is for a savior. So no matter what I should have joy. I pray I would more like Daisy-ma, singing and dancing at the age of 90. Lifting the spirits of everyone around me. Laughing, Loving, and rejoicing in the Lord. At the close of her funeral they played a song and everyone clapped along. We know she is in heaven and we were rejoicing. We miss Daisy-ma a lot but I am sure she is singing, dancing and filled with joy more than ever.

Other Florida Pictures

This is Caleb, he is the son of one of Chad's friends from High school. He is 8 days younger than Rylee. He also has a sister that is 2 months older than Jacob. We have already arranged thier marriages. (notice his hand around her)
On the way down there at steak and shake.

We took a trip around the lake on the boat.

Surprise Grammy!

Chad's Mother turned 60 this year. We went to Florida to surprise her. Jim, Zac and Chad threw her a surprise party at Steak and Ale. When she walked into the back room everyone was there including her sister and brother-in law from Texas. It was a lot of fun. There were about 25 people there to wish her happy birthday. And as you can tell she was really surprised!

All of Jim and Connie's family. (on both sides)
